FAO Paper…. by mrs trellis User: mrs trellis

Posted: 27/4/2018 at 07:08:51, 125 views. In reply to 'scarborough news'

Tinker’s right Martin we only want to read about the single best performer in the team. Collective achievement and contribution are meaningless.

During next season rather than writing your reports during matches and getting them up online within an hour of the final whistle, we expect you to count how many time each player touches the ball. Each of these touches should be graded to outcome, giving an Opta style quantitative analysis of each player’s contribution.
The aggregate of these scores should then be totalled.

At any given point during the season you should only write about the player with the highest aggregate total. THAT IS ALL WE ARE INTERESTED IN.
Stop wasting our time with wider interest stories and features on other players. JUST WRITE ABOUT THE BEST PLAYER.

Obviously this will free up space in the paper. May I suggest a feature on people whose lives are impacted by the strange condition where every time they drink champagne it tastes like piss.

Not everyone can be this silly but it is nice to see so many trying.

Looks like Colwyn may have blown it. Them and Colne have to play Hyde & S Shields respectively - so very difficult for both of them
Trafford look to be safely through with a reasonably ‘easy’ last game & with points on the board.
& coming on the outside with a winnable game is Taddy who could do it through goal difference if Colne don’t get anything at S Shields.

Last playoff place - who will join us? by Burniston User: Burniston

Posted: 26/4/2018 at 19:26:32, 103 views.

It’s looking sooooo tight with some big games tonight. On paper I would say the last 2 places would be Trafford & Colwyn Bay but they play each other tonight so anything could change.

‘On form’ the final points would be: (ie assuming they all won one game of those remaining).

Trafford 65
Colwyn 63
—————
Colne 62
Taddy 62

Perm 2 from 4

going to Colwyn Bay is a drag
Colne OK if the sun shines & we go the short route by coach
Trafford probably strong opponents next season if promoted.

Difficult to call who will win the playoffs. Prescot have certainly gone slightly under the radar and moved ahead of bamber who have had a bad run since beating us.
end of the day it is a lottery. Let the best team win! :)

They’re heading to the EvoStik it would seem, and Pickering are now in a great position to pounce. They need “just" 8 points from 4 away games to effectively seal it.

Massive court case has just finished in Denmark in which a mysterious inventor has been found guilty of murdering a journalist in a submarine (seriously).

The prosecutor is a bloke called Jakob Buch-Jepsen.

He should be chasing lost cause, over the top long balls from a burly centre half in the driving rain, probably at step 3 or below playing in West or South Yorkshire, not fannying around prosecuting murderers. Someone tell him.

Stating the obvious and preaching to the converted but…. by mrs trellis User: mrs trellis

Posted: 25/4/2018 at 12:24:24, 206 views.

On Saturday, we’ll all cheer and applaud SK and his team for the success on the pitch.

As you’re walking around the ground on Saturday please don’t forget to thank all of the volunteers who have also made our homecoming season so successful.

If you see them make sure you thank the turnstile operators, 50/50 draw and golden goal ticket sellers, programme and team sheet sellers, match-day and hospitality volunteers, board members, club secretaries, PA announcer, club shop staff and all the other people who have made such a massive contribution to our success.

Every week these people have turned up daft early, left daft late, missed huge chunks of matches and given ridiculous amounts of time and energy on non-match days as well.

Without them the team on the pitch who we are rightly celebrating wouldn’t have been able to kick a ball.

Every one of them deserves our enormous gratitude and respect for their efforts and success.

I saw Pete Smurthwaite at the game last night, and chatted to him for 5 minutes or so.

I pointed at the almost 1,000 people in the new ground and told him that none of it might have been there without his help since 2007. It was good to see him and finally thank him in person. I’m sure lots of other Boro fans saw him and said the same.

Will be up against a footballing team on a nice pitch, so I’d be tempted to get Dawson and Cadman in centre midfield if Tom isn’t available, bring slew back into the team try and match them with creative football rather than the more aggressive players.
