On the face of it its harsh given the previous two years but, the current state of affairs would seem to justify the decision, the football on offer is pretty appalling at the moment, the team selection would appear to be done by putting all the squad in a hat and pulling 11 names out, a team with no obvious shape, no width and the most creative players left out completely, I don’t believe the play offs is realistic now so just hope someone can give us a structure to play more attractive football and perhaps give some of our youngsters a sniff at getting into the first team. add too that one of our lowest attendances of the season yesterday the correct decision.

Though it isn’t the decision I would have taken, the board are in the strongest position to make it. I haven’t seen enough of us of late to comment to too great an extent, but we certainly seem to have lost our way for sure.

For my part, I’d like to echo the words of others in setting out my thanks to Steve for all his hard work and to recognise his achievements. The upward trajectory has been significant - from escaping relegation, to a playoff appearance, automatic promotion and now sitting in playoff contention. That’s serious progress in three and a bit years. Throw in three cup finals and a great cup run, it’s been a real adventure. So, thanks Steve, let’s hope our paths cross again with both having been successful.

Fully agree Tree. My only gripe has been some team selection issues for a while now but also accept that we don’t know what has been going on in the background and in training.

I have always made myself a promise not to publicly name any player on here that I am not happy with but I am going to partly exempt myself from that promise as we have had a certain midfielder for some time now who would not even get on the bench in my team selection (well maybe). In all the time I have seen him, & that is all home games, he has only had one good game with the rest just winding us up. I think yesterday he made 1 (ONE) decent pass with the other 95% going astray or having the ball taken from him. I get the ‘keep it cool - keep possession’ thing & so passing back is not always a bad thing but with this player you can see it is the first thing on his mind and it infuriates the fans especially when he has the time to turn & move forward to create something upfront. Many goals from either side often come from quick breakaways before the defences get time to settle but this guy is so slow we rarely get this chance.

I am grateful to SK for all he has done and thank him & sorry it has ended like this. I am also sorry to see Chris Bolder go as he seemed a good inspiration & feel he had the respect of the players and fans. Best wishes to you both.

I do believe the team he had at Gainsborough was a more attractive side than us and had some winners in their team. But given the circumstances I believe we need to look to next year and yes only 4 points behind but possibly well below the level really required.. let’s not rush and see what we can attract.. I personally think the whole team could do with a freshen up which means many of the favourites shown the door.

We can only dream.. I doubt we could ever afford him and appeal to him at this level.. the only positive him perhaps still living in the area at least that’s what I understand but going back a number of years. He may well be the impact for a final promotion push until the end of the season.. (bring back wright)

A victim of his own success - if we’d spent the season just outside the playoffs in our first year at this level it would’ve been fine really, but to be top earlier on and then have a slump to being 4 points outside the playoffs it makes it look like a bad season

Terrible signings at Christmas when only 2 Stella ones were required. Kept faith with his favourites far to long. Piss poor player management had to many favourites and easy to drop his others.. Harpered on about younger players but never gave them a chance just what we want to hear.. I think this season is over perhaps let’s manage to the end off. And the sacking off was a smoke screen.. very tactful.. early December was the start of the rot, the odd win covered up the issues. Hume was just unlucky and was easily blamed. There was no other direction.

Kittrick sacked - Perspective needed by BoroNo7 User: BoroNo7

Posted: 16/3/2019 at 20:32:36, 325 views. In reply to 'RE: Kittrick Sacked'

Enoch Powell once said “All political careers ultimately end in failure” …and I would add… “ and all football managers too”

I’m not sure about current relationships within the team and Club as a whole . Promotion always brings with it the need to improve and strengthen the team but SK’s attempts to do this appear not to have been too successful and performances since the autumn have been on the decline .To me the team now seems to have lost its way and lacks structure and self-belief.

However I think we owe SK our thanks for a successful 3.5 seasons and some memorable times along the way. We should remember that when he arrived we were on the verge of relegation back to the NCEL and he now leaves us dis-satisfied with being 6th in the Evo-Stik Premier

There have been some suggestions on here that we have financial problems, I’ve no idea if this is so.However I have been unconvinced that a team operating at our level needs a manager, assistant manager and 1st team coach - it is not clear to me watching from the stands that the Asst Manager and 1st team Coach roles are clearly defined and I’d urge the Board to reflect on this before making any new appointments - for reasons of both operational clarity and financial value for money.

Looking back to Aug 2017 a top 8 finish this season would represent good progress , we need to keep a sense of perspective and re-structure both on and off the field ready for a good push for promotion in season 19/20 - but we don’t have a divine right to expect this !

Too much player power by Derek Abbey’s barnet

When there are players on £500 per week dictating when they will (& more importantly won’t) play, it’s a mess. I appreciate it’s a long way from South Yorkshire (for instance) but the techtonic plates haven’t moved recently, so it’s the same travel time that it was when we were winning

Who are you suggesting earns £500 a week and chooses whether they play or not? I didn’t much care for Mr Kittrick’s style of play or his tactics, so his departure hasn’t upset me that much. Regardless, I would never believe that he would ever allow any player to ‘dictate’ anything to him, let alone whether they play or not. I have also never heard a player say coming to Scarborough is too far. Please name names.

Why are we conceding so many late goals? by Armchairdog User: Armchairdog

Posted: 16/3/2019 at 19:04:27, 203 views.

Matlock (H) - 2-1 up on 90 mins, conceded in 90th min - DREW
Nantwich (H) - 2-1 up then conceded in 83th and 85th min - LOST
Witton (A) - 1-0 up with 8 mins to play - conceded twice - LOST
Stalybridge (H): 1-0 up with 3 mins to play, conceded twice - LOST

That’s 11 points blown. Other notable late collapses have been:

South Shields (H) - conceded two goals in last 11 mins after being level at 1-1 - LOST
Hyde (A) - conceded two goals in quick succession in last 15 mins, hung on to win 3-2

By my calculations, in the league, nearly HALF of the 48 goals against us have been scored in the last 15 minutes. So, is it a fitness issue? Are other teams fitter than us? Is it just poor game management?

Why are we conceding so many late goals?

Having watched our U 19 side play all their home matches, I would like to say how much enjoyment they have given the fans who turn up on a Monday night.
The high standard of football is due to their fitness and ability, under the management team of Blotty and Ingram. Every game has seen them improve, and
I believe they may be the nucleus of future Boro teams. I do not know if SK has seen them play, but he maybe could learn a thing about the way they approach
the game over 90 mins.

Next time you go to a match, before you go in the bar take a few minutes to watch the thorough warm up that Tom Morgan gives Tom Taylor.

TM’s commitment and enthusiasm week in week out are exceptional, and the constant encouragement and guidance he gives to TT must be a massive lift.

TT is rightly getting a lot of credit for the amazing double save early in yesterday’s game.

Can’t help but wonder how much the equally amazing finger tip save diving full length to his left as TM put him through his paces twenty minutes earlier contributed to those critical saves.

Not everyone can be this silly but it is nice to see so many trying.

Cadman and Gooda have probably done very little wrong except fallen out with the man who picks the team. Bigger and better players go out of favour at clubs in every league all over the world. There is only two things they can do - either suck it up or leave. I really hope it’s the former and definitely not the latter. It is the only time I’ve heard the manager out an individual player for being ‘poor’ however, whilst forever name dropping and commenting on how good other team’s players are. Not particularly good for morale.
As for the game, I thought generally we did well. Taylor made some fine stops and we made several promising chances. Last ten minutes was squeaky bum time, but importantly we held on to get an important 3 points

Particularly in the first half yesterday Jack was a real threat down the right hand side.

Useful overlaps, decent balls from the byline and well weighted through balls.
For me he is in the side on merit, and while he might not put in the crunching tackles that are Josh Lacey’s specialty, Jack offers a lot more threat and refinement going forward.

Comments about his father’s occupation and business connections are nothing more than tawdry rumour mongering.

the facts are as follows

Jack Johnson is a better RB then Josh Lacey Overall.

A modern day defender does not just kick the player in the air and hoof it. JJ can get up and down the wing the whole game and has confidence in attacking positions. More so than JL.

Good performance today .well worked1st goal for boro. Referee was poor and biased .some of us bookings were a joke ,and as for the penalty ,beyond a joke ,he was no where near ,and the marine player was falling before killock touched him .the penalty taker must have watched yor k on tues. KT must have been sh**ing is self last 10 mins ,poor defending for their goal ,cool o put is away no problem ,for boro,s 2nd
